Types of
anime - Part V
Most series in this genre contain some form of romance,
love is one of the most obvious emotions in shoujo anime. With love
comes angst since for often than not, they are unable to get the
one they love the most. In order to convey this emotion, the art
in both shoujo anime and manga is much more pretty, focusing on
the characters more. Their eyes, especially close up, are the more
detailed of the face.
Almost everyone is beautiful in some way or another, the men are
very 'handsome' by anime standards, leading to the term 'bishounen'
(literally 'beautiful boy'). The colours are much more lighter and
friendlier to watch.
